About Reckreator

Reckreator, formerly known as RedPanda, first discovered electronic music at age 17 while living in Hamburg, Germany. Exploring the city’s underground techno scene completely transformed their perspective on music, igniting a passion that would shape their entire creative journey.

This music became a passion.

Reckreator started their journey by mixing tracks from inspiring artists such as Stimming, Max Cooper, Boris Brejcha and Patrick Chardronnet. They started at home with some virtual DJ software and a modified USB keyboard as a controller, and began to experiment and learn about sound manipulation. Slowly noticing their ears changing focus, they often found themselves analysing songs, trying to figure how people had achieved these incredible sounds and picking up on the different rhythmic patterns.

This process became an obsession.

This analytical approach naturally led to producing original electronic music. Starting with simple beats and melodies, Reckreator constantly sculpted new sounds, drawing inspiration from diverse sources and fusing ideas together. Over the years, they have refined their production techniques with a strong focus on live improvised electronic music and a keen ear for innovative sounds.

Reckreator’s dedication to the craft extends beyond the studio. They are an active member of Hamburg’s maker community at HoFaLab e.V. They completed their Audio Engineering studies at the SAE Institute Hamburg in 2023, providing a solid technical foundation for their creative work.

In 2021, their music caught the attention of Berlin-based dub techno label Lucid Flow Records, who began releasing their works. Since then, Reckreator has expanded their practice beyond traditional releases into community building and live performance innovation.

As part of Hamburg’s dkF crew, they help organize regular synth jams that bring together the local electronic music community. Through Modulove, which Reckreator co-founded, they run DIY workshops, stream regularly on Twitch, and have developed and released several Eurorack modules. Their live sets feature a custom modular rig that has evolved over years of careful development with the Modulove team.

Reckreator’s artistic practice has also taken them internationally. During time in Australia, they founded Fixable maker space, continuing their commitment to community building and collaborative creation. They worked on festivals including Motion Music Festival and East Gippsland Winter Festival, creating live dynamic and evolving soundscapes for visual installations that incorporated theatrical performance and crowd interaction. They also completed an interactive audiovisual installation in collaboration with RMIT representing Float Artist Collective, demonstrating their commitment to interdisciplinary artistic collaboration.

Today, Reckreator continues to push the boundaries of live electronic music through their evolving modular setup, community engagement, and innovative approach to sound design, embodying the spirit of Hamburg’s vibrant electronic music ecosystem while contributing to its ongoing evolution.
